 Definition 

"A database is an organized collection of structured information, or data, tipycally stored electronically in a computer system. A database is usually controlled by a database managment system also called DBMS. Together the data and the DMBS alonf with the applicacions associated with them are referred to as a data system often shortened to just data base" acording to (Oracle, 2022)

A very typical used modeled in rows and columns which make a table this is used to make the process of data and querying much efficient, the data can be managed and organized, most of this databases are structured on query language SQL for writing information.

Differences between a spreadsheet and a database

  • How the information is stored
  • who can access the information 
  • and how much of the data can be stored
Databases are desing to store a much longer collection of information, massive amounts, sometimes databases allow different users at the same time to secure the acces and query the information using complex language, however spreadsheets were designed for just one user at the time, they are great for single user or small number or users who do not need to do a data manipulation.
