Discuss the 4Ps of marketing, establishing and focusing on the ones most relevant to your project
The four Ps were introduced in 1950's and they become a mix combine of four elements the product, price, place and promotion this are used in marketing for any product serviced, this are essential to have and target an audience, they gather a number of factors that are consider when promoting a new or an old product, including what the costumers want, what they are looking for and if the product will meet the expectations.
Therefore there exist another marketing mixes however the four Ps are a foundation to create a sucessful marketing plan, on this topic i will explain more about this process of each of them and which of them are really important for an eCommerce website (investopedia, 2023).
Here Are the 4 Ps of Marketing
1. Product
Frist we focused on the porpuse of the product it self, whether who need it and why?, this are also called the qualities of the product and it is the mission of the markerer to define it without this part the product will not be able to have a distribution. The product could say too much about how much will it cost and how should be promoted.
Most of the sucessful products have been the first on their category for example Apple was the first to create a touchscreen smartphone that could do many things such as browing the internet, playing music and making phone calls, Apple reported a total sale for the iPhone for the 2022 at $205.4 billon, it hit the milestone of 2 billon iPhones sold (investopedia, 2023)
2. Price
Is the amount that the consumer will be able to pay for the product therefore is the work of the marketers to determine the real product value and considering seasonal discounts and in some cases a business decision wil may raise the total cost of the product by raising the exclusivity or in some cases they may lower the price so the consumer will try it on their own hands.
Having a discount also is job for the marketer whether if it is appropiate, because you could call the attention of new costumers but also gives the impression that the product is less needed that it was before.
3. Place
Is the part where we consider if the product should be available and how can be displayed for the costumers.
The decision is overiding, as a example the makers of a well known tech company would want to make shown their products in from of the costumers that will be more likely to buy them, that is the goal of every business.
This means that placing a product have to be displayed on the proper store with the proper consumers.
For example, the 1995 movie GoldenEye wa the 17th installment in the james bond movie franchise and the firs that did not feature an Aston Martin car. Instead Bond actor Pierce Brosnan got into a BMW Z3. Although the Z3 was not release until months after the film had left theaters, BMW receiverd 9,000 orders for the car the month after the movie opened (investpedia, 2023).
4. Promotion
The main for promoting is to communicate to the consumers that they need the product, therefore this goes by the hand with advertising and overall the use for media to show and introduce the product.
Marketers have connect promotion and placement to reach all the audience, for instance the digital age these days the "Place" and "Promotion" factors are as much online as offline and which types will capture the attention of the audience.
Which is more relevant to my project?
The four Ps each of them play a crucial part for every product to work for the audience, this means analyse the characteristics of your product and consider also the competition this will give a wide perspective, think about the appropiate price this mean promoting and price of the product itself.
Therefore the one that i will use and focus on wiuld be the product, people will review your product whether has good quality build or poor materials, that is why the decision of focusing just on the product is the most important on my opinion.
